On Thursday 29th March 2012 Dayle Bayliss, Hugh French of Fenn Wright Surveyors and Stuart McDonald of the East of England Coop, represented RICS matrics Suffolk at an event organised by Suffolk Chamber of Commerce and Copleston High School. This was an opportunity for businesses and professional bodies to engage with students in a business fair style event. Students were able to engage directly with business owners to ask about opportunities into employment and employability skills. We were able to offer advice on the range of routes into entry into the RICS and the 17 different pathways that the RICS represents.
As a Chartered Building Surveyor and Chair of matrics Suffolk Dayle understands the importance of engaging with students to open up the professional surveying opportunities within the construction industry, especially demonstrating that there is more to construction that being a tradesman on a building site.
Jo Leverett of Suffolk Chamber will be organising a further event in the Autumn where the RICS matrics Suffolk will be represented by Dayle Bayliss Construction Consultant.
